Trying To Stay Positive

It had been a while since Meg's murder, but it still troubled Melody. She had never seen it actually happen, had never actually seen one of the...dead bodies. She had just heard about them before. This was the first time she had seen it with her own eyes. And it bothered her. She was having a harder time focusing on her studies, and she was even having doubts about bringing Jane in here. She was thinking about leaving, maybe finding somewhere else.

No, you can't. People are starting to like you here. You could be somewhere worse, you know. Stay positive.

Melody nodded, touching the locket around her neck again. It served as a constant reminder of her best friend, and it was usually the thing that kept her going throughout the day.

Rapunzel opened the door to Melody's room. She had seen her looking upset earlier, and figured that her room would be the best place to find her.
Poor girl, she thought to herself, so young and yet having to deal with with these horrible murders. Simply awful. The murderer needed to be caught, and soon.
"Can I come in?" she asked.

Melody looked up. "Oh, of course!" she said, jumping to her feet. She gave a slightly clumsy curtsy, her hair falling into her eyes. So much for good first impressions. "It's nice to see you, Miss Rapunzel." She gave a friendly smile. Rapunzel always seemed to be in a happy mood, despite the gloom and doom that hung over the opera house.
